Though it's thought to be one of the oldest breeds of dog, the Shiba Inu of Japan is still very popular to this day, thanks in no small part to internet memes and social media accounts dedicated to this expressive, intelligent pup.
Scientific Name: Canis lupus familiaris
Characteristics: Shibas are independent and stubborn, often described as being more like cats than dogs in terms of their temperament. They are a short and well-muscled breed with an overall compact appearance when compared to related breeds. The Safari Ltd Shiba Inu figure captures this look of the dog, as well as its fox-like face and curled, brush-like tail. Though there are many coat colorations of Shibas, this figure showcases the common reddish fur typical of many Shiba Inus.
Size: This Shiba Inu figure is approximately 3 inches in length and 2 1/2 inches high.
