    History:

    Sadly, like all gorilla species lowland gorillas are classified as endangered due to poaching and large scale deforestation, which destroys their natural habitat. Gorillas are also susceptible to natural diseases, the most destructive of which is Ebola. In fact, Ebola outbreaks have done the most damage to gorilla populations. Still, lowland gorilla numbers are on the rise and there is reason to believe they can rebound in the near future. Until that time, give this cuddly little gorilla a good home to grow up in!
