Every year, they spend around two months working alongside their wonderful suppliers Mentari International in Indonesia, makers of all Tender Leaf Toys. Their family-run factory operates with high standards of training, wellbeing, and respect and supports its local community’s economy by providing dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers.
Tender Leaf is deeply committed to protecting Indonesia’s natural resources and nobly only works with reclaimed rubberwood, a by-product of the latex industry. In addition, for every reclaimed tree they use, a new one is planted, driving ahead the cycle of regeneration. They have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for their ethical and sustainable supply chain. 🙌🏼
From raw wood to the finished product, every single stage of their production happens in the same family-run factory. Once each wood toy is hand-painted, assembled, and checked, they wrap in paper and package in recycled cardboard.
They care a lot about being as sustainable to our planet as they can be, and they are close to eliminating single-use plastic in all of their packaging.
